Christina's Dancing in the German Wilderness!

Christina spent a few weeks in July exploring Berlin and dancing at the Ponderosa Festival in Stolzenhagen, Germany. With the help of cold outdoor showers and a contact improv workshop with Peter Bingham (Vancouver), she learned literally and figuratively how to chill out. With the help of an intensive in performance and improvisation with Kathleen Hermesdorf (San Fransisco) and Stephanie Maher (Stolzenhagen), she remembered just how exhilarating dancing is. And with the help of delicious German beer, freshly grown produce, and breathtaking sunsets, she realized the many reasons why Germany is lovely.

Check out info about the festival at www.ponderosa-dance.de.

Rachel in the NW

During the month of July, Rachel is participating in Strictly Seattle (a dance workshop, shockingly, in Seattle). It culminates in a weekend engagement, July 25 and 26, where she will be performing a new work by New York based choreographer Tiffany Mills.
She's getting her ass kicked!

Remember the time you gobbled ’shrooms from that guy hanging out at that punk show you went to, and then stumbled through the nearest doorway, where some homeless dude guided you and seven strangers through the craziest trip of your life? No? Well in case you want to relive that awesome experience you probably wouldn’t have been able to remember anyway, check out the Pink Hair Affair, a dance troupe of eight pink-wigged University of the Arts BFA BFFs. In Memory of the Deathtrap is a site-specific performance that guides you through a dilapidated South Philly row home as dancers twist and contort in the nooks and crannies of the house. Also, there’s booze. After the last performance every night, wine is a juicy reward for checking out the growing site-specific performance scene in Philly. (Rachel Brind)
